En ta tarde del 24 de agosto de 2016 han entrado al Noviciado 19 postulantes en la capilla de la comunidad de San Rafael de Kumbo.
Le soir du 24 aout 2016, 19 postulants ont fait leur entrée au noviciat durant Les vêpres solennelles organisées en la chapelle de la communauté Saint Raphael de Kumbo. La cérémonie comprenait la procession des postulants avec leurs formateurs et le Père Evaristus Akem (Supérieur Provincial), suivie d’une récitation solennelle de l’Angélus avec laquelle le Père Provincial ouvrait la prière des vêpres. Le chant des psaumes a alors suivi ; puis la lecture des numéros 108, 109, 112 de nos Constitutions avec les numéros 167 et 168 des Règles. Ces énoncés de nos Constitutions et Règles concourraient à rappeler à nos jeunes frères que « le but du noviciat, qui marque le début de la vie religieuse dans notre Institut, est que les novices puissent mieux connaitre l’appel de Dieu (leur vocation piariste) afin de former leur cœur et leur pensée selon l’esprit piariste ». Le rite propre d’entrée au noviciat a donc suivi une brève exhortation du P. Provincial qui s’est appuyé sur les enseignements des numéros des Constitutions susmentionnés. Les vêpres ont été clôturées avec l’exécution solennelle de l’hymne à Saint Joseph Calasanz. La soirée fut donc colorée de prises de photos et d’animation, assorties d’un repas communautaire avec les familles de nos frères se préparant pour la profession simple.
On Wednesday 24th August 2016, 19 postulants made their entrance to the novitiate, during solemn vespers, in the chapel of Saint Raphael’s Formation House- Kumbo. The event comprised the entrance procession of postulants with their formatters and Fr. Evaristus Akem (Provincial Superior), followed by the solemn recitation of the Angelus, with which Fr. Provincial opened the vespers. The singing of the psalms and the Scripture reading then followed; then, the reading of numbers 108, 109, 112 of our Constitutions with numbers 167 and 168 of our Rules. The contents of these respective numbers of our Constitutions and Rules instructed our young brothers that the “objective of the novitiate, which initiates the religious life in our Institute, is to help the novices know more fully the divine vocation (Piarist vocation in this case) so that they may model their minds and heart on the spirit of the Order”. Fr. Provincial then gave a brief exhortation building from the teachings embedded in the numbers of the Constitutions mentioned above. This then led to the entrance rite and the rest of the vespers closed with the execution of the hymn to Saint Joseph Calasanz. Snapshots, animation and the community meal then spiced the evening.
